  If you want to walk around the street near the ocean, it is quite a good location. Easy to drink and find food. But there is no sand area. And behind a little bit dirty. But this hotel room is clean and old-fashioned. I think it is not bad, but not super good. In Mokpo, this hotel is a good choice for travelers.

  The room is very spacious and clean. It has a wonderful view of the beach and the sea. The music fountain is right in front of our room too but there weren't any shows during the period we stayed. We booked a room for two people for 2 nights. On checking in, we found that only 1 bath towel was given with 5 hand towels. Naturally we informed the reception and it didn't help that they weren't very proficient in English. However, the same thing happened on the second day after the room was cleaned up, again our bath towels were replaced (though we hung them up) with 1 bath towel and 5 hand towels and again I had to call the reception and try to communicate with them. However, we do appreciate though, that the towels were delivered promptly on request The other thing that we found annoying was that the sound proofing of the rooms are really bad. We can hear the sounds from neighbouring rooms (left and right), especially when they are dragging their chairs and that is really frustrating as it happens every now and then till late into the night. I guess the hotel has no control if the guests drag their chairs hard and loud, and besides, I am coming to accept this to be the locals' habit as a lot of the guests are locals and this is my forth visit to Korea, so this isn't something new. However, in some of the hotels that I had stayed, they put up signs asking guests not to shift the furniture in the room excessively to prevent disturbing the other guests. Location wise, it is located in a very happening area with lots of different restaurants just behind the hotel. Events are also organized in the area in front of the fountain but I guess it happens mostly on the weekends. Otherwise, the room itself is spacious and comfortable, it comes with a pretty nice shower too. There is also an open area outside the shower that serves as a cosy little dressing area for ladies and that is my favourite part of the room.

  Good views. Clean rooms. As expected nothing fancy but does the job. AC worked great here during the hot days of Mokpo.

  Nice clean modern hotel right on the waterfront. Looks like all the rooms offer a view facing the water, from our room on the 5th floor we were able to watch the beautiful light show that occurs nightly. Location is great, walking distance to museum district. Underground parking available. Stayed on a week night during off season, 121,000 won. English name Benikea Fontana Beach Hotel.
