This is a place where I felt expertise in tea and was impressed by the friendly explanations. I enjoyed the shaved ice and Ssanghwa tea very well.

This is a traditional tea house near Gongsanseong Fortress. We visited to eat shaved ice. When I visited, it seemed like the owner had won an award and had a patent for manufacturing traditional tea. Personally, I was impressed that the Dokkaebi shaved ice was delicious and the Ssanghwatang was prepared with care, but what was disappointing was that the price of the shaved ice was 18,000 won for two, Ssanghwa tea was 10,000 won, and other teas were priced at over 7,000 won, so I thought the prices were too high. (A chocolate latte costs a whopping 7,000 won!!) It seems like they put a lot of effort into the interior since it is a hanok (traditional Korean house), but it was disappointing that the inside felt cramped because there were too many tables compared to the size. Please note that there is no coffee menu. There is a public parking lot opposite, so you can park there.

It is a traditional teahouse with an elegant and simple atmosphere. The Hanok interior is so pretty and cozy that it's great for drinking tea. There are so many different types of tea, and the owner is so friendly. Typically, teahouses serve coffee, so it feels a bit odd, but this place only serves tea, so I was really satisfied. I especially recommend the Gongju Chestnut Ssanghwatang, the signature dish of this teahouse. It was not sweet and really savory, and I had a strong feeling that this was the real Ssanghwatang. The ginger latte was also smooth and I felt comfortable after eating it. The goji berry & chrysanthemum tea also had a nice subtle scent. Especially the tea variety, which has a candle under the tea pot or cup to keep it warm. Also, perhaps because it is a type of tea, it was nice to have tea as dessert after eating because it eased the burden on my stomach and made me feel less burdened. Also, if you order a drink, it comes with grilled rice cake, which is really warm and savory, and the honey is not just honey, but angelica root syrup, so it's even more delicious and satisfying. I definitely want to stop by next time and try other types of tea! If you come to Gongju, I recommend stopping by and taking a break with a cup of tea!

I ordered black sesame goblin shaved ice. It is a menu that can be ordered from 2 people, and the portion size is generous (we had 1 man and 2 women, and it was just right), and it is refreshing and delicious. When it's hot, it would be nice to enjoy it inside the restaurant with the air conditioner, and on a cool or drizzly day, it would be nice to enjoy it at a small table on the floor next to it.

I love it!!๐Ÿ‘ From Seoul to Gongju I found it by chance when I went to buy chestnuts (okgwang). It's a bit small, but~ The atmosphere inside was all about herbal medicine, so I felt like they were making good ingredients themselves. The moment you prepare the teacup and place it on the table... So touching that it takes your breath away!!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Since it's a weekday, I'm free so... The teacher (owner) is the grand prize winner in the herbal medicine category. It was clear that he loved people.๐ŸŒป I was touched... How did you start the tea shop? Attitude towards guests, preparation process, etc. Everything is top notch๐ŸŽŠ Do you like teahouses? If you are planning to visit during your trip: Experience it yourself~~ More than 100% satisfaction is possible.๐Ÿ€๐ŸŽถ The photo is The ginger tea I ordered (lid closed) This is my companionโ€™s jujube tea. It may be difficult to tell from the photo above. There is a brazier (?) under the teacup that keeps the tea from cooling down. I regret not taking a side photo.๐Ÿ˜ฅ The representative menu item of โ€œHyangseolโ€ is Ssanghwacha. I like Ssanghwa cars, but Because I always experienced failure at other coffee shops~~ I regretted my menu choice. However, the ginger tea did not leave a single drop of substance or liquid behind. I enjoyed it deliciously... Leaving a review this long is also my Guinness record... As the name โ€œHyangseolโ€ suggests, I really want to go on a day when snow piles up..๐Ÿ’Ÿ๐Ÿค—
