Just dont go. Really long waits because its overcrowded and overbooked. After speaking to the doctor after a two hour wait, i went to the radiologist who said the doctor was too busy to let him know my condition, so the doctor's notes werent entered into the computer and the radioligist asked me to explain what the doctor wanted him to do. Unsanitary as well. Just choose another place.

This place was a joke. Went the reception and they sent me to the international health center, a place with 3 receptionists, 2 volunteers, 1 general doctor and 0 patients. Had a leg injury and they said there's no one who can see me so have to see the family doctor instead. He pokes my leg a bit and obviously is no expert on legs so just says rest. Which is less than i already worked out from the internet the night before. Receptionist forgets to check if i have insurance, so had to a load of walking around from one place to another. TIP: be sure to mention if you have insurance. Couldn't even give me a crutch there. had to hobble down the hill to the subway station to the shop. To conclude: paid 40k for 4 mins with a doc and a document to say ive been there. Certainly more damage was caused to my leg by going there than staying home. A massive hospital and not one leg expert? Think all foreigners get sent to the one place with no specialist staff. Feels a bit racist to me.

My father died at Seoul National University Hospital. He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance as he had collapsed at home and was unable to hold himself up. As my mother rode in the ambulance with him, she had to moisten his parched lips due to extreme dehydration from throwing up all night. On the way to the hospital, it was apparent that he had also lost control of his bowel movements. This was my dad’s condition when they arrived at the hospital. Although my dad was taken inside on a stretcher, he was taken off it once they were inside and placed on a chair in the emergency waiting room. My mom was directed to fill out paperwork at a location where she could not keep an eye on my dad. After having completed the paperwork, my mother told the nurse in the emergency waiting room that my dad’s condition was extremely serious, he was in a lot of pain, and it could not wait; it was truly an emergency. This nurse ignored my mother and merely informed her that a doctor had already taken a look at him – he was not considered an emergency. After waiting for about 20 to 30 minutes, during which my mother had my dad lean on her due to his inability to hold himself up, the nurse finally approached my dad to take his blood pressure. However, seeing that my dad could not sit up straight, she told him that he had to sit up straight for her to take his blood pressure. While the nurse was trying to put the arm cuff, my dad let out a sound of pain. Noticing the grimacing expression on his face, my mother asked my father if he was in extreme pain, and he nodded his head. At that moment, my father let out a second painful cry and collapsed. This is what it took for the hospital staff to finally acknowledge that my dad’s condition was indeed an emergency; they took him into the resuscitation room and tried to resuscitate him for a whole hour, at the end of which my mother was told that he was dead. This news came to my mother as a complete shock; my father had just gone hiking the day before, he was never diagnosed with a heart condition (he apparently had a heart attack), and he was now dead. We’ll never know if the outcome would have been different had he at least been given IV therapy; why did he not get IV therapy while he was waiting when it was apparent he was so dehydrated? Why was my mother, who had to speak on my father’s behalf since he could not, completely ignored? It is appalling that the hospital staff at Seoul National University Hospital, who are entrusted with the sacred role of caring for patients whose lives at times hinge on their hands, treat patients as numbers or merchandise to be processed based on their determination. Seoul National University Hospital’s greeting webpage claims that they strive to “show others the importance of love, kindness, and communication.” Well, let me say that they failed miserably on all three counts. When it comes down to it, Seoul National University Hospital is an uncaring process, efficiency, money-driven healthcare business. What happened to my parents is completely unacceptable and should not happen to anyone. You will not be treated as a fellow human being at Seoul National University Hospital as they have forgotten life’s basic tenet, “Treat others as you would want to be treated.”
