  This turned out to be one of my best experiences on Jeju, a surprising authentic gem in the midst of a tourist zone. We came at 1100 for lunch during the low season, so it was not busy. We ate abalone porridge, raw sliced abalone, raw sea squirt (sac-like filter creature you see in aquariums attached to rocks, tastes salty with texture of seaweed), and raw conch (chewy-crunchy texture). Everything was very fresh, and tasted like the sea. Service was no-nonsense and efficient, elder haenyeo women who had soju with their morning meal, helpfully brought out an English menu when she saw us struggling with translations. Cash preferred, we spent 83,000 won, but earned an “aigoo” from the grandmother server for ordering and eating so much.

  Old ladies are cook as well as waitress.they claim that they are divers who catch the sea food they sell. You are expected to pay by cash only. Most of the menus are raw sea food except Avalon porridge. of course very fresh. WhenI I was there on sunday morning , all the tables were occupied and it took quite a long time before we got served. You can enjoy the ocean view as well.

  Place served by Haenyeo aunties. I suspect they are serving their own catch from the morning...first time having assorted fresh seafood sashimi, sea squirts, boiled octopus, sea cucumbers ... and abalone porridge...can't get more fresh and authentic then this...
