Prime location at the end of hwangnidangil shopping street and close to sightseeing locations (cheomseongdae observatory/ woljeonggyo bridge etc). Room has a slight stuffy/ wooden smell probably due to the way the Hanoks are built and the poorer ventilation. However, the smell is less apparent after airing it for an hour or two (with the doors open. Placement of the shower head/ toilet bowl within the toilet is not ideal as it’s not separated and the whole bathroom will be wet after showers (probably due to the hanok configuration) but not a huge deterrence. Lastly, I was initially pretty hesitant to use the blankets and padded sleeping mats but during check out I saw the cleaning ladies changing the sheets so be rest assured that these are cleaned after every stay. Overall, would highly recommend for an (relatively) authentic stay as the exterior of the hanok is beautifully decorated with traditional activities (arrow throwing/ free hanbok rental etc).

The experience is absolutely worth it! But there were small issues in the room (broken shower, broken outlets) that the service team was unable to be fixed. But the team was very nice about it.

The building is amazing. But u can’t only rely on the looking. The big problem is they don’t offer enough towels. They give one room only one big towel. We r three. We get one big and three small. We know that’s traditional house including Korean custom. But the hotel doesn’t thoughtful that everyone comes from different places. The mattress could be thin. But towel is about the sanitation. They can’t be stubborn. That’s not right.

No bed. No chair. No table. Traditional, very nice looking, but we had to fold the so called futon into three layers, one foot wide to have any matress at all. By folding the duvet the same way, we could build a very poor matress, one foot wide. The futons in Japan are of good quality and put onto tatami mats, not hardwood floors. Only recommended to people who insist on the on-the-floor experience that seems to be a hit since a Korean king slept on a heated floor in his castle hundreds of years ago. The uneven floor heating does not help. Visit the hotel, enjoy the view but sleep elsewhere to enjoy the next day.

Absolutely stunning hotel with good location to tourist site. Truly traditional setup down to the bedding. Yup …you sleep on hard floor with mattress no thicker than 3 fluffy towels πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. It was a truly memorable experience to be done only once - my back won’t take another night of it
